Deal | Samsung 990 Pro 1TB and 2TB SSDs get biggest discounts yet on Amazon
Regular PCIe 4.0 SSDs, such as the Crucial P3 Plus, are a usually a pretty good choice for regular consumers who mostly care about having an adequate amount of quick storage capacity at their disposal. However, hardcore enthusiasts who appreciate the highest possible performance need to have much deeper pockets in order to afford an absolute high-end SSD like the the Samsung 990 Pro.
Fortunately enough, both the 1TB and 2TB model variants of the Samsung 990 Pro have now received their steepest discounts so far on Amazon, which is where these superfast NVMe SSDs can currently be bought for a deal price of US$149 and US$249, respectively. Admittedly, the potential savings of up to 14 percent or US$40 aren't nearly as high as in other recent SSD deals, but Camelcamelcamel's price history shows that these are Amazon's lowest prices ever for both versions of the Samsung 990 Pro.
Before ordering, prospective buyers might also want to check out our hands-on review of the Samsung 990 Pro. Overall, we were able to confirm that the PCIe 4.0 can hit the advertised sequential read speeds of more than 7,000 MB/s. We also didn't notice any thermal throttling during long copy processes, but users who have set their sights on this SSD should definitely install the latest firmware in order to avoid the potential issues that have been reported by a certain number of users. Either way, this M.2 drive is also covered by the usual five-year manufacturer warranty.
