Motorola launches a 2023 flagship smartphone in the US that charges slower than in other regions
Motorola has confirmed that it has brought the "endless possibilities" of its newest top-end, 165Hz display flagship Android smartphone to the North American market as the Edge+ 2023. However, it seems the brand's fastest 125W charging technology is beyond this new version. Nevertheless, its new starting price might make up for that.
Motorola has finally unleashed its latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2-powered Android smartphone on the North American market. It will be known as the Edge+ 2023 in its new market rather than the Moto X40 or Edge 40 Pro - and that is not the only change made in this version.
The 40 Pro made it to Europe with its 125W wired charging spec intact; however, the Edge+ 2023 has not been so lucky. It has been announced with the same 68W standard as the Edge X30. Then again, it also has a larger (5,100mAh) battery compared to its versions for other markets.
Furthermore, the Edge+ 2023 will come with a full-speed TurboPower charger in the box - not to mention its 165Hz pOLED display, 50+50+12MP rear cameras, UFS 4.0 internal storage and LPDDR5X RAM. It will become available to pre-order through Amazon, Best Buy or Motorola from May 19, 2023 for an MSRP of US$799 in the US or CA$1,299 in Canada.

I became a professional writer and editor shortly after graduation. My degrees are in biomedical sciences; however, they led to some experience in the biotech area, which convinced me of its potential to revolutionize our health, environment and lives in general. This developed into an all-consuming interest in more aspects of tech over time: I can never write enough on the latest electronics, gadgets and innovations. My other interests include imaging, astronomy, and streaming all the things. Oh, and coffee.
