Motorola Moto G 5G receives 2023 refresh with US$249.99 launch price
Motorola has introduced the Moto G 5G 2023 in the US, its latest mid-range smartphone for the country. Announced alongside the latest Edge Plus and the Moto G Stylus 2023, the Moto G 5G 2023 features a 6.5-inch and 720p LCD panel that operates at 120 Hz with an 84% screen-to-body ratio and 269 PPI pixel density. Unsurprisingly, the handset is rather cumbersome at 163.94 x 74.98 x 8.39 mm. However, its plastic construction keeps its weight to 189 g.
According to Motorola, the Moto G 5G 2023 also has a Snapdragon 480 Plus chipset, 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of expandable storage. For reference, the device supports up to 1 TB microSD cards. Additionally, the Moto G 5G 2023 has a fingerprint scanner, face unlock via its front-facing camera and a 5,000 mAh battery that supports 15 W charging. Motorola claims that the Moto G 5G 2023 should last up to 2 days between charges, although your mileage will vary depending on how hard you push the handset.
Elsewhere, the Moto G 5G 2023 has a 48 MP primary camera without OIS, a 2 MP macro camera and an 8 MP front-facing camera. The handset ships with Android 13 too, mirroring the rest of Motorola's recent product stack. Motorola will begin selling the Moto G 5G 2023 later this month in the US; global availability remains unknown for now. Starting May 25, the Moto G 5G 2023 will be available for US$249.99 from various third-party retailers and network carriers in Harbor Gray and Ink Blue colourways.
