Apple has officially confirmed the date of its next hardware launch event. Billed as 'Wonderlust' and occurring in two weeks, the event is expected to toast the releases of at least the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Pro, Watch Series 9 and Watch Ultra 2.

Apple has now sent out invitations for its next special event. As the image below shows, its next event will start at 17:00 UTC on September 12, just over a week after the anniversary of last year's 'Far Out' event. Like past events, Apple will not only host its event at Apple Park, but it will also broadcast the same event on its website.

While Apple has not revealed any details about the products it intends to showcase, there have been plenty of indications about what could be coming. For example, Apple is currently expected to unveil the iPhone 15 series, iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max included, as well as the Watch Series 9 and the Watch Ultra 2. Conversely, there has been no mention of refreshed iPads, such as an entry-level iPad or an iPad Air.

Based on various rumours, Apple will equip all iPhone models with the Dynamic Island and a USB Type-C port this time around. However, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus are said to retain 60 Hz OLED panels, plus the A16 Bionic from the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. With that said, the pair are anticipated to launch with 48 MP primary cameras, with new periscope telephoto cameras headed to Pro models too. Arguably, the Pro models will receive more changes than regular models, including a new 3 nm derived A17 Bionic chipset, a multi-function button and a titanium housing.

On the other hand, the Watch Series 9 and Watch Ultra 2 are rumoured to be more of the same. Reputedly, Apple is saving major design changes and improvements for its 2024 models, which Mark Gurman detailed earlier this month. Apple could well bring a dark colour option to the Watch Ultra series with a second-generation model as well, which is a relatively minor change in of itself. Still, Apple may offer a more powerful chipset this year, effectively for the first time since the Watch Series 6.
