Google has already confirmed its intentions to offer up a second-generation Pixel Watch, which will debut on October 4 alongside the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. For reference, it appears that Google has made a few hardware changes between the Pixel Watch and Pixel Watch 2, such as a new health sensor array and IP68 certification. The Pixel Watch and Pixel Watch 2 will look almost identical though, which we have discussed previously.
Currently, Google has kept most changes between the Pixel Watch and Pixel Watch 2 a secret. However, the latter is expected to feature the Snapdragon W5 Gen 1, a more powerful chipset than the Exynos 9110 that Google included in the former. 9to5Google has now revealed a new first-party watch band that Google may also introduce on October 4. Incidentally, any new watch bands should be backwards compatible with the first Pixel Watch.
On the one hand, 9to5Google alleges that Google finally plans to release its Milanese strap, an accessory that it unveiled last year but eventually decided against selling. While pricing is unknown at this stage, Google originally advertised the watch band for US$129.99. On the other hand, 9to5Google has lifted the lid on the Metal Slim band, which the FCC mentioned last month in its initial Pixel Watch 2 document disclosure. Unfortunately, it is unclear how much this new watch band will cost, although Google charged US$199.99 for its first-generation metal watch bands.
