Garmin Vivoactive 5 to launch imminently with AMOLED display and 42 mm sizing for €299.99

Two leakers have provided various details about the Vivoactive 5, likely stylised by Garmin as the vívoactive 5. To recap, while Garmin has released countless smartwatches in the last few years, it has largely ignored the Vivoactive series. For example, while the Vivoactive 4 and Venu series launched simultaneously, Garmin has since moved onto the Venu 3 and Venu 3S.

Nonetheless, little has changed visually in four years between the Vivoactive 4 and Vivoactive 5 series. Specifically, the latter has thinner display bezels than the former but retains its two-button layout, circular display and a blend of aluminium and plastic materials. According to @billbil_kun, the Vivoactive 5 has a 1.2-inch AMOLED display within a 42 mm case that outputs at 390 x 390 pixels and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Moreover, the smartwatch is water-resistant to 5 ATM and weighs 36 g with its silicone watch band.

Moreover, @billbil_kun reports that Garmin will advertise the Vivoactive 5 as offering 11 days of battery life in smartwatch mode or as little as 21 hours with all GPS systems activated. Reportedly, Garmin will unveil the Vivoactive 5 on September 20 for €299.99 in the Eurozone. While it is unclear whether Garmin will also introduce a Vivoactive 5S model, @MysteryLupin has shared official images of the Vivoactive 5 in three of its four launch colours.
