MagyarPolar Vantage V3 to launch soon as pricing, pictures and specifications leak
It appears that Polar is preparing to finally replace the Vantage V2, a few months after the company introduced the Ignite 3 Titanium. While Polar often releases multiple smartwatches per year, it has kept the Vantage V2 in place for almost three years. Its Mexican website has all but confirmed that we are a few weeks away from the arrival of the Vantage V3 via two short-lived product listings.
Unsurprisingly, Polar has now hidden the listings. However, evidence of both remains online, including several product images. Also, the listings contained almost all key specifications, such as the inclusion of a 1.39-inch AMOLED display with a 462 PPI. Additionally, the listings mention that Polar has protected the mid-sized display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 to reduce the risk of picking up scratches.
Meanwhile, Polar has built its next smartwatch around an aluminium housing to keep its overall weight down. Furthermore, the Vantage V3 will support offline maps, plus a GNSS for providing location services. Moreover, Polar has equipped the smartwatch with numerous sensors for monitoring blood oxygen levels, heart rate and skin temperature, as well as a compass and a dedicated flashlight.
As the screenshots below show, Polar listed the Vantage V3 for MXN 13,399, equivalent to US$785 at current exchange rates. By contrast, Polar still sells the Vantage V2 for MXN 12,499 (~US$732), a modest 7% increase. Although there is no guarantee that Polar would apply this price increase globally, it would see the Vantage V3 retailing for approximately US$535 in the US.
