Poco-exclusive Poco Launcher 4.0 gets updated

Although Android users can only get Poco Launcher 2.0 from Google Play at this time, Xiaomi's app has just been updated to version 4.39.7.6141-06021747. Sadly, Poco Launcher 4.0 has been exclusive to Poco phones for a while, and the latest version is no exception.

Roughly one year ago, Poco Launcher jumped from 2.37 to 4.36, bringing major changes to all its users. The most important ones were the removal of individual icon pack support (users need to use the Themes app to change icons instead), the introduction of multiple MIUI Launcher features, including the app start and close animations, as well as a horizontal recent apps menu. 

The removal of support for third-party icon packs was not well received by many users, but nothing changed since this happened (and certainly nothing will change in the foreseeable future, either). 

Introduced yesterday, the update with the version number 4.39.7.6141-06021747 comes more than two months since its predecessor, which arrived on June 19 with the version number 4.39.7.6055-04271116. Both are minor updates and, unfortunately, everything that their change logs mention is "Bug fixes and performance improvements."

Back in April, the update 4.39.7.5973-03291206 arrived with "some MIUI Launcher features" in tow alongside the usual fixes and tweaks. 

Thankfully, unhappy Poco Launcher users have plenty of choices at their disposal. Two choices that are very flexible and fast are Microsoft Launcher and Lawnchair (sadly, this one hasn't been updated since 2019, but still can be considered an excellent launcher).
