The Nothing Launcher is now available to install on most Android smartphones
Last month, Nothing released its launcher for Android, a fairly minimal effort from Carl Pei's company. Initially, the Nothing Launcher was available on the Pixel 6 and the Galaxy S22 series, with OnePlus smartphones missing out. However, the company has since expanded Nothing Launcher eligibility, removing previous restrictions.
Still available to download for free, the Nothing Launcher will still only work on smartphones running Android 11 or newer. Additionally, it is worth stressing that Nothing Launcher remains in Beta and Early Access, which may explain why some people consider its functionality to be a bit basic as it stands. As Android Authority shows in the video below, the Nothing Launcher offers hardly any innovative or new features.
For example, tapping the weather widget brings up a website, rather a Nothing-branded sub-menu. As of version 1.0.1, Nothing has added a 'How to Set Up' page, which will trigger when you open the launcher for the first time. Also, Nothing has simplified the process of changing your wallpaper to the Nothing wallpaper, which can be triggered with a pop-up box. For some reason, Nothing has provided a Dropbox link to download bonus wallpapers and ringtones too, rather than integrating them within the Nothing Launcher itself.
