Carl Pei has been at work establishing his tech start-up as a potential contender in the personal electronics market since leaving OnePlus behind a few years ago. Now, the company is at the point at which it can release a teaser for an Android mobile device for the first time. However, in a way rather poetic given the OEM's name, the new poster does not really reveal a lot about the upcoming phone (1).
Nothing's fans have probably already noticed a rather abrupt shift to a parrot theme now that the upcoming device's launch campaign is finally underway. The phone (1)'s inaugural teaser has now been revealed to feature more birds, as it is serves as a perch for two of them in its first real teaser.
Therefore, there is not much actual phone (1) to see here. Then again, the image now indicates that its rear panel might not be 100% transparent, as suggested earlier: there might be a fascia of some kind around the rear cameras, which already gives the impression of being there to match the ear (1) TWS buds - or their case, rather.
Then again, we can see that 1 of its rear cameras will be found behind a large(ish) round lens with a metallic ring accent, and that there may be at least 1 more shooter to the left of it along the top of the frame. On that note, the frame the birds are sitting on is clearly flat; furthermore, the winged models can't hide the conventional plastic antenna lines that cut into it.
All in all, this world-first shot of the Nothing phone (1) might not seem to have anything to offer in terms of detail or design. On the other hand, one might already be reminded most of an older iPhone already. It will be interesting to see if this potential impression will be reinforced in subsequent teasers - and if there will be further feathers to look past for it.
Nothing ear (1) TWS earbuds: now on Amazon.
