Although there is still no news about when the hotly anticipated DLC will drop, Elden Ring Patch 1.05 is now rolling out across all platforms. While it isn't nearly as comprehensive and meta-defining as the previous Patch 1.04, it does bring forth some important QoL improvements. A few platform-specific changes are thrown in the mix, too, such as a "Return to Desktop" button for PC players, who previously had no button to quit the game from the main menu.
Elden Ring Patch 1.05 fixes a few exploits that could be used to completely break how weapons interact with each other (Pulley Crossbow plus Jar Cannon exploit). The ability to attack some enemies without entering fog gates has been disabled, too, likely rendering the Commander Niall cheese moot. Other changes include the ability to carry over certain bell bearings to a subsequent New Game cycle. It is an important change as players can buy end-game upgrade materials at the beginning of a playthrough, allowing for more experimentation with items/builds.
One can read the full Elden Ring Patch 1.05 changelog on Bandai Namco's official website. Even though the game is quite polished, it has no dearth of bugs, many of which probably still exist in the game. Other changes include better multiplayer stability for PS4/PS5, improved loading times for the Xbox Series S|X, and a more stable online multiplayer experience. The update is rolling out across all platforms and will be downloadable immediately.
