FromSoftware has shown off what Elden Ring's first (and likely only) DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree has in store. It includes a mix of old and new bosses set in an area called the "Shadow Realm". Pre-orders are live for PC, PlayStation and Xbox now, but the content will be playable only in late June.

As promised, FromSoftware dropped a three-minute trailer highlighting what Elden Ring's first major story expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree, has in store for us. Even though it was just three minutes long, it was jam-packed with information, and it won't be long before YouTubers break it down frame by frame for three hours.

Shadow of the Erdtree's trailer starts off by showing off Miquella's cocoon which was little more than a setpiece in the Mohg fight. The trailer says "touch the wretched arm and enter the real of shadow", indicating that's the DLC's access point. We get a glimpse of a ruined version of The Lands Between, complete with a dead Erdtree, followed by a visual of some new bosses and the return of some existing ones (Ranni, Draconic Tree Sentinel). Tanith from the Volcano Manner appears to have finished her meal and will likely return as a boss.

There's even an arena with flowers that looks similar to Sekiro's final boss arena. Here, we presumably square off against Miquella in an epic battle. More details about Shadow of the Erdtree should hopefully be revealed in a subsequent trailer. Meanwhile, you can pre-order it for PC, PlayStation and Xbox for $39.99 (or your equivalent local currency). However, you'll have to wait until July 21 to play Shadow of the Erdtree, just enough time to start a new playthrough and brush up your skills.
