Elden Ring Tarnished Edition Switch 2 release date leaks after $80 pre-order reveal

Nintendo fans have endured a long wait for FromSoftware’s award-winning Soulslike adventure. If a Canadian retailer is correct, followers may now know the Elden Ring Tarnished Edition release date. Unfortunately, there are no signs that the pre-order price for the Switch 2 game will change.
Summer of the Erdtree?
On social media, Edu2407dito informed gamers about edits to the PNP Games listing. The store has a solid reputation, but nevertheless, the July 10th estimated shipping date could be a placeholder. Observers pointed out that Bandai Namco’s Digimon will also ship on the same day. Still, after retailers like Amazon opened preorders in April, an update was anticipated.
While some Switch 2 games launched at $80, Nintendo has resisted more premium pricing for its recent first-party titles. Some stores are even discounting physical versions to match new digital discounts. Sadly, that doesn’t apply to Elden Ring Tarnished Edition.

Disappointing collectors, the 4-year-old release will also utilize a Game-Key Card. The fact that it includes the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC and bonus content makes a higher price tag more palatable. Hopefully, its performance will justify the expense and reward the patience of supporters.
Frame rates remain a concern
After optimization struggles, how well it will run on the handheld is still unknown. Showcased at a Nintendo Direct, the title was originally to debut in 2025. Initial hands-on demos exposed stuttering, prompting a postponement to 2026.
Following a period of silence, FromSoftware provided reassurance in February. A financial report confirmed no delays in the Elden Ring Switch 2 release date. In addition, the console-exclusive The Duskbloods should surface before December 31st. The vampire-themed PVPVE multiplayer project has also been in limbo since the same 2025 Nintendo broadcast.
There are rumors that the Japanese gaming giant could feature the games again in a June Direct. With the Elden Ring Tarnished Edition, fans are expecting a trailer showing off stable performance in open-world areas.
