FromSoftware made a surprise cameo at The Game Awards today. Right after CD Projekt Red blew everyone's minds with The Witcher 4, we got treated to a new Elden Ring game. No, it isn't Elden Ring 2; that is unlikely to happen anytime soon. Instead, we get Elden Ring: Nightrein, a co-op focused game set in the same universe.
The official Elden Ring X handle calls it a, "co-op action survival" game. That raises more questions than it answers, but more information should emerge as its launch approaches. The Elden Ring: Nightreign website tells us up to four players can squad up. Unlike the original game, where you could pick from a dizzying amount of items/builds, here you'll have to pick pre-determined 'heroes'.
In the Elden Ring: Nightreign trailer, we see familiar locations from the base game, such as Limgrave, Caelid, Radahn's battle arena and what looks like Leyndell. We also get a glimpse at what could be the final (or pivotal) boss that players will need to conquer. The game launches sometime in 2025 on PC, Xbox and PlayStation.
