Elden Ring's Shadow of the Erdtree will be playable across all platforms on June 21. Those looking forward to more content for the critically acclaimed game will be disappointed. FromSoftware boss Hidetaka Miyazaki confirmed in an interview that the company has no plans for any additional Elden Ring DLCs.
Miyazaki says the sheer scope of Shadow of the Erdtree prompted the company to release it as one expansion. Plus, it was previously rumoured that it is two DLCs mashed into one, which could explain why it took so long to develop. After all, this is FromSoftware's first open-world title.
Additionally, Shadow of the Erdtree will not add a new ending to the main Elden Ring story, but can end different based on your choices. It is an entirely different plot and will feature new NPCs, including the mysterious Miquella and St Trina.
There's no telling what FromSoftware will be up to once Shadow of the Erdtree is out and about. Miyazaki refused the answer the question stating, "there are too many variables at this stage". A new Dark Souls game is out of the question. Some Sekiro DLC might be nice, but unlikely. A Bloodborne remaster, perhaps? One can only hope.
