New footage shows Bloodborne running at 1080p 60 FPS on a PS5
At this point, the chances of Bloodborne being remastered for the PS5 or PC are next to zero. As a result, fans have taken it upon themselves to reimagine what a sequel or even a remaster would look like. Prolific modder Lance McDonald has taken it a step further by successfully running Bloodborne on the PS5 at 1080p 60 FPS.
For those out of the loop, Bloodborne was limited to 30 FPS on the PS4, likely due to hardware limitations. While unofficial 60 FPS patches exist, they only run on modded PS4 consoles. Lance's footage, captured on a PS5, uses no upscaling techniques and is "raw gameplay capture". It shows off the iconic Father Gascoigne boss fight at the end of Central Yharnam and a section of the Forbidden Woods.
Exactly how Lance achieved the feat is a bit of a mystery and hopefully should be revealed soon, as the PS5 is more than capable of running Bloodborne at 60 FPS. It also shows how easy it is for Sony to do it themselves. Exactly why it chooses not to is a mystery, primarily when talented studios like Bluepoint exist.
