The lack of any Bloodborne-related content from Sony is frustrating and unlikely to change anytime soon. Meanwhile, there are a few titles that can serve as interim relief while the great minds at FromSoftware are toiling away to create a sequel. Steelrising, developed by Spiders Games, draws heavy inspiration from Bloodborne, and it is now up for pre-order on PC, Xbox Series S|X and PS5.
One can grossly oversimplify Steelrising by calling it Bloodborne with robots. While the game is set in the French Revolution-era Paris, it incorporates elements from other FromSoftware classics, such as a grappling hook. Its combat rewards aggression and even has pistols that work in tandem with the melee weapons. That, combined with the verticality, puts Steelrising somewhere between Bloodborne and Sekiro. Check out the attached gameplay preview to find out more.
Steelrising will be available to play across all platforms on September 8. It is available in two versions: Standard and Bastille. The latter gives players access to an exclusive weapon, and a DLC, which brings a new character, a new area, a new enemy class/boss, and a new weapon. The standard edition costs €60 and the Bastille edition €70 on PS5/Xbox Series S|X. Unfortunately, there isn't a physical version of the game available for purchase now. Regional pricing rules apply for the PC version, distributed exclusively via Steam.
