Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc. has opened applications to become a beta tester for the upcoming Bleach Mirrors High mobile video game. Set after the Blood War series, players can play as Soul Reapers, including two new characters designed by Bleach creator Tite Kubo.

The popular anime Bleach centers around Soul Reapers who guide souls to the afterlife while defending the world against the evil Hollows, Quincy Empire, and others. Several hundred episodes and several movies of this anime have been released over the decades. Details on the game itself remain scant.

Applications to become a tester will be open until July 13, 2:59 A.M. UTC. The closed beta test period will run from July 22, 11:00 P.M. until July 29, 10:59 P.M. (PDT). Players can enjoy the game in English, French, German, Japanese, Korean and Traditional Chinese on Android (OS version 12.0+ with a minimum of 6 GB RAM) and iOS (OS version 17.0+ with a minimum of 4 GB RAM) phones. The Android and iOS-compatible game can only be played on mobile phones, not tablets.

Tite Kubo explains his involvement beyond creating two new Soul Reapers for the game, Shirin Migishima and Shirane Sanari:

"For this project, I have been involved from the kickoff meeting and worked on the title, scenario, and character designs. As for character designs, I got so excited working on them and ended up doing more than what was requested.

For the logo design, I wanted to come up with something that resembles my style. I made it simple, yet something that will leave an impression the moment you see it.

I sat in on the audition and also took part in the recording sessions, so the characters turned out just as I imagined. The story is partly related to the main scenario of the comics, so I hope you look forward to that too."

Other game characters shown in the second teaser released at Anime Expo 2026 include Rukia Kuchiki, Renji Abarai, Toshiro Hitsugaya, Byakuya Kuchiki, and Ichigo Kurosaki. The briefest snippets of gameplay suggest Bleach Mirrors High will retain the look and feel of prior Bleach video games.

Bleach fans can rewatch the Thousand-Year Blood War (sold here on Amazon) or play Rebirth of Souls (sold here on Amazon) while waiting for Bleach Mirrors High.
