The new Tamagotchi largely sticks to the familiar egg-shaped design and features a small square display and three buttons. The major addition to the Tamagotchi Paradise is the new dial on the right side. This allows players to zoom in four stages, from an entire Tamagotchi planet to a single Tamagotchi, all the way down to a cell inside that Tamagotchi.
The planet first hatches from an egg in an event Bandai Namco calls the "Egg Bang". Players then gain access to three different biomes: land, water, and sky. These biomes influence how a Tamagotchi develops, the same applies to the food and activities that players choose for their particular Tamagotchi. The game includes twelve different Tamagotchi species and over 50 distinct Tamagotchi overall. When two Tamagotchi produce an egg, their characteristics combine, which means that over 50,000 different creatures can be created.
Tamagotchi Paradise also offers multiplayer elements, allowing two Tamagotchi to interact and eventually start a family, or even develop a rivalry and play tricks on each other. Zooming to the cell level becomes necessary when a Tamagotchi gets sick and you need to fight off pathogens.
