The Minix SF15 Fold is a new dual-display monitor that offers a significant increase in screen real estate, especially for laptops. In principle, it's not just limited to notebooks, as the portable system can also be used with mini PC and easily turn them into a multi-screen workstation. While this might be a less common use case, it could be practical for longer business trips while staying in a hotel, for instance. This mobile monitor weighs 3.6 lbs and should be relatively easy to carry around.
As mentioned above, the SF15 Fold consists of two displays each measuring 15.6 inches. Both monitors offer a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. Since they don't use an OLED or Mini-LED panel, buyers shouldn't expect exceptionally high brightness, vibrant colors or high contrasts. That said, the brightness can be adjusted between 20 and 300 nits. According to Minix, the IPS panel fully covers the sRGB color space, but the NTSC and DCI-P3 color spaces are just covered by 72% and 74%, respectively.
Moreover, this dual-monitor setup can be powered by USB Type-C, while image signals can be received via two mini HDMI or USB-C ports. Two small speakers with 1 watt each are built-in. The Minix SF15 Fold is now available at the manufacturer’s official online store for $279. Alternatively, European customers can order this product at Geekbuying and other Chinese marketplaces.
