Asus has returned to the world of the 34-inch curved gaming monitors, almost two years after introducing the ROG Swift OLED PG34WCDM (curr. $1,036 - used on Amazon). In summary, the PG34WCDM utilises a WOLED panel with a 1440p resolution and a 240 Hz refresh rate. Now, it has created the ROG Strix OLED XG34WCDMTG, which switches to a Gen 2 QD-OLED panel produced by Samsung Display.
Exhibited this week at Computex 2025 in Taipei, the ROG Strix OLED XG34WCDMTG matches the ROG Swift OLED PG34WCDM with a 3,440 x 1,440 resolution and a 240 Hz refresh rate, albeit with an 1800R curvature. Moreover, Asus has confirmed that the monitor provides 99% DCI-P3 colour space coverage. If the Alienware AW3425DW is anything to go by, the ROG Strix OLED XG34WCDMTG should also deliver 1,000 nits peak brightness (3% APL) with 0.03 ms GtG response times, plus AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, Nvidia G-Sync and VESA AdaptiveSync technologies onhand to mitigate image tearing.
Asus has decided to pre-install Google TV Android 14 too, in a similar vein to recent LG UltraGear OLED gaming monitors. As a result, the ROG Strix OLED XG34WCDMTG supports Nvidia GeForce Now out of the box, for which Asus has included a Wi-Fi 6 capable modem, 5 W embedded speakers, Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision. According to TFTCentral, Asus plans to begin selling the ROG Strix OLED XG34WCDMTG in Q3 2025 for $1,049 in the US. There is no word yet on regional availability, though.
