The Galaxy Watch6 Classic has been around for a while for now, having been introduced in summer 2023 alongside the Galaxy Z Fold5 and Galaxy Z Flip5 (curr. $488 - renewed on Amazon). While Samsung pivoted to the Galaxy Watch Ultra last year, a recent One UI Watch beta build indicated that the Classic could be returning in 2025 as part of the Galaxy Watch8 series.
Now, OnLeaks has provided a first detailed look at the so-called Galaxy Watch8 Classic in partnership with SammyGuru. Strictly speaking, the Galaxy Watch8 Classic only succeeds the Galaxy Watch6 Classic. However, the design shown appears to combine elements from not just the Galaxy Watch6 Classic but also last year's Galaxy Watch Ultra.
To that end, the Galaxy Watch8 Classic features a physically rotating dial set into a squircle-shaped housing. Meanwhile, Samsung has included two physical buttons and a digital crown, as well as its proprietary band system. Reportedly, the Galaxy Watch8 Classic will measure 46 x 46.5 x 14.2 mm, which Samsung will probably advertise as a 47 mm case size. As it stands, the Galaxy Watch8 Classic is expected to join the Galaxy Watch8, Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7 this July during Samsung's next Galaxy Unpacked event.
