Garmin Connect will soon integrate with Health Connect by Android. This Google service enables users to share health data between various apps and devices, providing a holistic view of your health which could help you to spot broader trends.
At the Google I/O 2025 developer conference, the company stated that Garmin would be joining the Health Connect ecosystem in June 2025. This should allow users of the brand’s smartwatches to sync workout and health-related data with other products in the Android ecosystem. For example, apps that are already integrated with Health Connect include AllTrails, Dexcom G7, Peloton, Oura and Withings; a complete list is provided on the Google Play Store.
During the presentation, the company also stated that it had seen a 50% uplift in active users over the last six months and called out other recent integrations with Flo, Runna, and Mi Fitness. Plus, new features for Health Connect were discussed. These include Medical Records APIs, which are linked to the new Fitbit Medical record navigator. There are also two new data types: Background Reads that allow developers to provide timely insights to users, and History Reads that surface longer-term trends.
Android users will be able to manage which data is shared between the apps from a dashboard on their smartphone, where they can also delete data or choose to prioritize certain data sources over others. Garmin and Google have yet to confirm when exactly the integration will go live.
