MSI has unveiled its AI-powered QD-OLED gaming monitor called the MPG 271QR QD-OLED X50 at Computex 2025. As the name suggests, it comes with a 27-inch QD-OLED panel and uses various AI features to enhance the user experience, as well as protect the display. The company also showcased the MAG 272QP QD-OLED X50 that was revealed earlier this month in China.
MSI MPG 271QR QD-OLED X50 specifications and features
The latest gaming monitor from MSI features a 27-inch 2K (2,560x1,440) display with a 500 Hz refresh rate and 0.03 ms GtG response time. It uses Samsung Display’s 3rd-gen QD-OLED panel for an immersive gaming experience. The monitor has VESA ClearMR 21000 and DisplayHDR True Black 500 certifications for vivid color reproduction and high contrast.
What’s special about the MPG 271QR QD-OLED X50 is the AI-based features. AI Care Sensor includes an always-on CMOS sensor and an NPU-based IC that detects the user to dynamically adjust various settings. It captures images every 0.2 seconds and knows when the user is away from the monitor, which automatically adapts the display to prevent burn-in. The monitor powers down when no user is detected. This is said to prolong the lifespan of the monitor and also enhance energy efficiency.
The MPG 271QR QD-OLED X50 is a flat panel with slim bezels and a thicker chin. The stand seems robust, much like the previous MPG 272URX and MPG 272QR X50 that were unveiled at the start of the year.
The MSI MAG 272QP QD-OLED X50 esports gaming monitor was unveiled in China earlier in May and does not feature the AI-based features present in the MPG 271QR. It does, however, have the same 3rd-gen QD-OLED panel, VESA ClearMR 21000 and DisplayHDR True Black 500 certifications, and 99% DCI-P3 color coverage.
MSI MPG 271QR QD-OLED X50 price and availability
MSI has not shared pricing and availability for the MPG 271QR yet. The MAG 272QP QD-OLED X50, on the other hand, is said to cost CNY 5,999 (around $829) and go on sale in China today, May 16. Global availability is unclear at this point.
