USetup E5 is a cheap and portable 18-inch gaming monitor with 120Hz

Countless portable monitors are available for purchase these days, and many carry rather affordable price tags. This also applies to the new Uperfect USetup E5, which has been listed on Aliexpress and sports a large 18.5-inch panel, which can provide more workspace when working on a laptop. The monitor has a pretty basic resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, which isn’t particularly high by modern standards.

On the positive side, the display features a 120Hz refresh rate and is apparently suitable for gaming. However, the panel’s response time of 16 milliseconds is very high, which means that action-packed games probably won’t be much fun. Furthermore, the portable 18-inch monitor has a peak brightness of 300 nits, and Uperfect claims that it covers the entire sRGB color space.

In terms of connectivity, the USetup E5 offers mini HDMI and a full-fledged USB Type-C port. When using the mini HDMI port, the monitor has to be powered via USB-C. In addition, there’s a 3.5mm headphone jack and two built-in speakers with 1 watt each.

The Uperfect USetup E5 also comes with a stand and a cutout to keep the RGB lighting visible. VESA compatibility is also advertised and allows the screen to be mounted. European customers can now order the 18-inch gaming monitor at Aliexpress for €149. Shipping to the US is not available at the time of writing. Anyhow, it should be noted that Chinese marketplace sellers rarely offer a helpful customer service, which can be a nuisance in case of a defect.
