FromSoftware's next game involves ships, island exploration; could launch sooner than The Duskbloods

With The Duskbloods and Elden Ring for Nintendo Switch 2 still scheduled for a 2026 release, there seems to be another FromSoftware game that will arrive much sooner. A new leak has suggested the studio is not far from revealing a “dark action RPG,” involving ships and island exploration. Of course, this is still unofficial information and should be taken with a pinch of salt.
The information comes from 4chan, where an anonymous user posted some interesting details about a game called ‘Cerulean Onslaught.’ It is said to be a dark action RPG where players explore different islands with their ships, which also act as a hub. Surprisingly, this game is said to be just one month away from being revealed, which will take place at Summer Game Fest. Furthermore, the leak adds that Cerulean Onslaught is self-published and will be released in August.
Summer Game Fest starts June 5 and will be hosted by Join Geoff Keighley from the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
This puts the rumored game ahead of The Duskbloods, which is expected in Q4. It will be exclusive to the Switch 2 and is touted as a gothic-themed PvP and PvE online action game with eight-player matches. Meanwhile, the Elden Ring port has also seen progress and is still expected this year. As both these games are headed towards the last few months of 2026, they will be competing with the behemoth that is GTA 6. How that would affect sales, only time will tell.
