Nothing Phone (1): 100 units hit StockX in time-limited auction as MKBHD reveals full design
Nothing has started offering the Phone (1) through StockX, where it has started auctioning 100 units. According to the listing, the Nothing Phone (1) is 'yet another gamechanger' that uses 'elegant, responsibly sourced materials' and 'loads of features'. Without irony, Nothing adds that the Phone (1) is without 'marketing jargon'.
For reference, the listing states that the auction will remain open until 08:59 ET on June 23. After that time has passed, Nothing will select the highest 100 bids and will send out 100 serialised handsets. At the time of writing, the highest bid has reached £2,00, having increased from £1,600 within the last hour.
Meanwhile, MKBHD has published a hands-on video with the Nothing Phone (1), detailing some of its features. Fundamentally, the smartphone resembles an iPhone 12 crossed with a Pixel 5. However, its back panel sets it apart from other smartphones, with numerous light-based gimmicks. For example, the Nothing Phone (1) has a battery charge meter above its USB Type-C port, along with the option of using all lights as a camera fill light. Nothing will release the Phone (1) on July 12, but many specifications still remain unknown at this stage.
