The well-known tipser Evan Blass has posted an image to his @evleaks Twitter account with the caption "Nothing to see here". This tongue-in-cheek phrase had of course been chosen as one of the main identifiable subjects of the photo is Carl Pei, the CEO of a new tech company by a highly relevant name.
The other, Cristiano Amon of Qualcomm, is captured next to Pei looking at something in the latter's hand. It looks most like a smartphone - the one recently teased by Nothing as its first Android-powered mobile device, perhaps?
Incidentally, Pei has also more than vaguely hinted that this upcoming first-gen product, which may or may not launch as the Nothing phone (1), will be based on a Snapdragon platform from Amon's OEM. Therefore, it and the device in the ex-OnePlus exec's hand in the photo are now rumored to be one and the same.
On the other hand, this line of speculation may have little enough to it at present, thanks to the way Pei grips it in its alleged inaugural leak. The entrepreneur just happens to cover what might be its rear corner-mounted camera hump with his thumb, for example.
On the other hand, should this really be the Nothing phone on show here, there is an early indication of flat edges and what might be a matte black finish. Then again, the start-up has yet to announce a date on which these potential details can be confirmed or denied as yet.
