OnePlus' co-founder Carl Pei has followed the launch of his new start-up Nothing with an announcement for that of its inaugural product, the ear (1) true-wireless stereo (TWS) devices, in June 2021. However, it seems the buds will now fail to make this vague deadline and will debut later in the same year instead.

Carl Pei's nascent tech start-up has launched under the moniker of Nothing, ostensibly to signify the "seamless" and unobtrusive experience its team envisions for the users of its devices. They are to be led into existence by TWS earbuds with the somewhat obvious new name of ear (1).

The company had announced plans to launch these TWS products in June 2021, having obtained certification for them (as the Nothing B181s) from official bodies such as the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). However, Pei has just revealed that they will now miss this target, and will now be unveiled later in the summer of 2021 instead.

The ex-OnePlus CEO does still assert that Nothing is "near the finish line" with the ear (1) buds, although "there are a few things left to finalize", thereby possibly reassuring fans (not to mention investors) that the company is still on track to deliver on its promises as planned.

Meanwhile, the executive notes that their "support and patience mean the world to us" as his new OEM strives to unleash its inaugural products on the world.
