Ferrari announces a partnership with Qualcomm to level the tech in its premium and F1 cars up
Qualcomm has just announced that it has become a Premium Partner in Scuderia Ferrari's campaign for the 2022 FIA Formula One World Championship. This new agreement will also see much more Snapdragon technology in the classic Italian marque's next generation of road cars as well. Qualcomm will also become involved in the brand's eSports concerns.
Qualcomm has confirmed that it is now a Scuderia Ferrari Premium Partner for the classic F1 team's bid to win the 2022 FIA World Championship. This will mean the Snapdragon logo will appear on the team's new F1-75 car, and will also incorporate the OEM's official involvement in the brand's eSports arm.
Ferrari will also use the Snapdragon Digital Chassis in its upcoming road cars. This Qualcomm suite consists of "open and scalable cloud-connected platforms" pitched at next-gen vehicles, slated to deliver the new Ferraris' 'digital cockpit', not to mention their assisted driving advanced system (or ADAS) solution.
This new collaboration will, according to Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna, "expand [the company's] knowledge in digital technologies and web 3.0 areas with great potential for automotive and motorsport". The hallmark car-marque has also indicated that it plans to put its brand's unique spin on said Qualcomm components while doing so.

I became a professional writer and editor shortly after graduation. My degrees are in biomedical sciences; however, they led to some experience in the biotech area, which convinced me of its potential to revolutionize our health, environment and lives in general. This developed into an all-consuming interest in more aspects of tech over time: I can never write enough on the latest electronics, gadgets and innovations. My other interests include imaging, astronomy, and streaming all the things. Oh, and coffee.
