NIO is best known for producing electric cars. However, it appears that the company is also preparing to launch its first smartphone. An AnTuTu benchmark result showcases some of the smartphone's hardware too, such as a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset and 12 GB of RAM.

The first concrete signs of an NIO-branded smartphone have appeared online, almost a year after CnEVPost first discussed details of the proposed project. As the screenshot below shows, an NIO smartphone has surfaced on AnTuTu running Android 13. While the smartphone's marketing name remains unknown for now, AnTuTu also reveals its N2301 model number.

Additionally, the unreleased smartphone scores 1.36 million points in AnTuTu, largely on account of its Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. Moreover, NIO has paired the powerful chipset with 12 GB of RAM and 1 TB of flash storage, more signs of the device's flagship credentials. It is worth noting that other Snapdragon 8 Gen 2-powered smartphone score significantly higher in AnTuTu than the so-called NIO Phone.

Still, we imagine this is because of unoptimised software rather than anything more endemic. Based on earlier leaks and rumours, the NIO Phone will also feature a 4,800 mAh battery that supports 100 W wired charging, dual-SIM connectivity and 'high-end cameras'. Reportedly, the NIO Phone could debut in Q3 2023, albeit likely in China, before reaching other markets.
