Honor Magic V2 slated to go global during IFA 2023
Honor has announced that its latest foldable smartphone will debut worldwide - but not until the annual IFA event in Berlin, Germany. The OEM is counting on the Magic V2 to be the most advanced in terms of "design, functionality, and durability" at the upcoming tech conference.
Then again, the V2 might face stiff competition on the show floor, from the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 if not the Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 and the OnePlus Open. Then again, there is no guarantee that those devices will also be available on the global market (or are even certain to exist, in some cases).
Nevertheless, Honor asserts that it is "time for foldable smartphones to step into the limelight", and is confident that the Magic V2 will, with its 7.92-inch 2344×2156 LTPO OLED display that fits into a chassis no more than 4.7 milimeters (mm) high when unfolded, despite its 5,000mAh battery.
Honor is likely to announce pricing and availability for the second-gen Magic V-series premium smartphone on September 1, 2023 during its IFA keynote.
