Leaker Kacper Skrzypek has revealed new details about the Redmi Note 13 series, nearly two months after early signs of the unreleased smartphone series appeared on IMEI databases. To recap, Xiaomiui discovered listings for 2312DRAABC, 2312DRAABG and 2312DRAABI, which would appear to be Chinese, Global and Indian variants, respectively. According to Skrzypek, Xiaomi intends to offer at least one Redmi Note 13 series handset with the Dimensity 9200 Plus, the same MediaTek chipset that it uses in the new Redmi K60 Ultra.
While the leaker has not provided any further details about the model concerned, the inclusion of a Dimensity 9200 Plus chipset implies that the handset will sit at the top of the Redmi Note 13 series, presumably as a Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus successor. Although we have not tested the Dimensity 9200 Plus yet, the lower-clocked Dimensity 9200 offers over a 25% performance boost over the Dimensity 1080 that powers the Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus.
Skrzypek adds that the device will rely on different cameras to the Xiaomi 13T Pro though, which is expected to launch as the global version of the Redmi K60 Ultra. Purportedly, the unnamed Redmi Note 13 smartphone will feature the Samsung ISOCELL HP3 as its primary camera, a 200 MP sensor that is similar to the ISOCELL HPX used in the Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus. Moreover, Xiaomi is said to be using the Sony IMX355 as the device's ultra-wide-angle camera, as well as the Omnivision OV2B10 and Ominivision OV16A1Q for macro and front-facing camera purposes.
In other words, the device will have 200 MP primary, 8 MP ultra-wide-angle, 2 MP macro and 16 MP front-facing cameras like the Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus. Based on earlier leaks, Xiaomi plans to introduce the Redmi Note 13 series in December 2023. However, this is only likely to apply to Chinese models, with global and Indian variants typically following a few months later.
