Xiaomi has now announced the initial launch date of its next flagship smartphones, which it already confirmed would be the Xiaomi 14 series. Thus, the company will continue its trend of releasing flagship models earlier and earlier within the calendar year. For example, the Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro debuted on December 11, 18 days before their predecessor's first anniversary.
By contrast, the Xiaomi 14 series will arrive on October 26. As always, this launch date will only apply to China; typically, Xiaomi waits another few months before it offers the Xiaomi 14 or Xiaomi 14 Pro outside its home market. For reference, the pair will not only showcase Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, but also HyperOS, a replacement for MIUI.
In the meantime, numerous listings have now turned up on Geekbench for the 'Xiaomi 23127PN0CC', a model number that has previously been linked to the Xiaomi 14. Surprisingly, while the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3-backed handset only outscores the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 by about 10% in single-core work, over a 30% gap exists between the pair in Geekbench 6 multi-core. In short, it appears that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is significantly more powerful than Qualcomm's current flagship chipset, although we would recommend reserving judgement until retail units arrive.
