Xiaomi HyperOS screenshots leak before Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro releases
Yesterday Xiaomi unveiled HyperOS, an evolution of MIUI that the company has teased will launch with the Xiaomi 14 series. Incidentally, it seems that Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun showcased the Xiaomi 14 during the same HyperOS announcement, the smaller alternative to the Xiaomi 14 Pro. While Xiaomi has not shared any details about HyperOS beyond its initial presentation, various screenshots have already surfaced on Weibo and Twitter.
Seemingly, HyperOS contains the greatest volume of visual changes for Xiaomi's smartphone OS for a few years. In the opinion of Kacper Skrzypek, a fountain of knowledge for all things Xiaomi, HyperOS could be the biggest upgrade for Xiaomi's product stack since MIUI 12. As the screenshots below demonstrate, Xiaomi has provided greater lock screen customisation options while overhauling the look of its stock apps.
It is worth noting that these changes are present in HyperOS 23.9.28, a dev build that appears to have leaked online. As such, Xiaomi may have more tweaks from MIUI 14 planned. Also, Xiaomi has often included more refinements and innovations in the Chinese versions of MIUI than their global counterparts. Thus, what is shown below is not necessarily indicative of what Xiaomi will ship to global audiences, likely with the Xiaomi 14 first in early 2024.
