Samsung continues to churn out One UI 6 beta builds, with a seventh update recently issued to the Galaxy S23 series. However, it appears that the company is moving closer to releasing stable Android 14 updates for its product stack. Incidentally, One UI 6 Beta 7 contains the following changes:
- Fixed the issue of the long input of the volume key is not recognised during proximity sensor operation
- Fixed the issue that the Navigation Bar gesture cannot be touched. Slow further improvement
- Fixed the issue that Quick Panel sometimes can not be opened on Home Screen
- Improved boot slow encryption call algorithm
- Improved screen blinking sometimes when rotating horizontally / vertically
- Improvement of camera crash and failed
- Many other improvements
While Samsung has not commented on the availability of stable One UI 6 builds yet, there are signs that it is not too far behind Google. For example, it has now published an overview of 'what's new in One UI 6' in multiple languages, including English and German. Similarly, Samsung has added stable One UI 6 builds to its test servers for the Galaxy S23.
Unfortunately, it remains to be seen in what order Samsung will update its devices to Android 14 and One UI 6. Based on previous release schedules, the Galaxy S23 series will be eligible to move on from One UI 5xx builds first, with other flagships likely becoming eligible before the end of autumn. By contrast, it could take until early 2024 for mid-range and entry-level models to receive their Android 14-based updates.
