Nubia is making progress with its next-gen flagship Android smartphones from its mobile gaming brand RedMagic, according to a new leak. It comes courtesy of the Wi-Fi Alliance, which has cleared two new devices from the OEM to use fast wireless connectivity. The standards specified hint at a class-leading SoC in the rumored 9 series.

Based on its track record, RedMagic is likely to contend for the title of highest-performance and flashiest smartphones powered by the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor in the next generation of its flagships. Now, those putative successors to the 8 Pro are closer to reality than ever thanks to their latest leak.

It consists of a new appearance by the Nubia NX769J, thought to be the 9 Pro (or Pro+, perhaps) based on its previous outing. If so, it has now been officially cleared to use Wi-Fi 6, in a leak that also identifies it as a "5G Multi-Mode Digital Mobile Phone".

It is accompanied in this new excursion by the NX721J, thereby leading to speculation that it is another 9-series variant. This new RedMagic model has the same wireless specs, apparently. Accordingly, both Android gaming smartphones are on track to launch soon, most likely with more ultra-high-res flat screens, as much if not more RAM and, of course, more integrated RGB cooling gadgetry.
