AYANEO is having a busy end to the year. On the one hand, the company has recently started shipping the Pocket Air, its first gaming handheld running Android. On the other hand, it is also preparing to release the FLIP and SLIDE, two long-awaited x86-based devices. Incidentally, AYANEO recently confirmed that it has redesigned the FLIP again, which we have discussed separately.
Now, the company has shared hands-on photos of the SLIDE on Twitter; previously, it has showcased the SLIDE using marketing renders. Unfortunately, it is unclear whether the devices pictured are retail units or prototypes. Nonetheless, AYANEO appears to have locked in the device's design, which looks much thicker than its other gaming handhelds, including the GPD Win 4.
Additionally, the AYANEO SLIDE has surprisingly thicker side bezels, given that it only has a 6-inch display. The device also seems to have shallower keycaps than renders suggested. Either way, the AYANEO SLIDE will eventually be available with an AMD Ryzen 7 7840U, hall triggers and joysticks and an M.2-based SSD. An AYANEO SLIDE release date remains unknown for now though, as does launch pricing.
