Leftover Intel stock: The NUC X15 with Alder Lake and an Arc A730M on sale from US$1,050

After being announced for fall 2022, the Intel NUC X15 - a laptop for gamers and creators - finally sees the light of day a year later. The Schenker-distributed X15 can be had from US$1,050. Its Core i7-12700H, Arc A730M and FHD panel are set, whereas its RAM and SSD(s) can be selected. The present variant can be found for around US$1,280.

A Windows operating system isn't included, so you will have to factor this in when purchasing the device.

Core i7, Arc A730M and 32 GB RAM (DDR5-4800, dual-channel mode, expandable) equip the laptop for demanding tasks such as rendering and gaming. The hardware allows you to play current games smoothly in medium to high settings on the matte screen. Less demanding games allow for more. Resolutions higher than Full HD would be possible with the corresponding display connected - with reduced settings. The laptop features two video outputs (HDMI, DisplayPort).

In total, the device has space for two M.2-2280 SSDs (1x PCIe 4.0, 1x PCIe 3.0/SATA). RAID-0/1 is supported. One full battery charge (62 Wh) allows for realistic runtimes of about 6 hours - taking into account the battery's capacity, these are good values. A shame: The battery can't be charged via the USB-C port. The installed FHD display (15.6 inches, IPS, 144 Hz) left a good impression on us in total. It boasts quite high contrast levels.
