Analogue has begun teasing the release of its next device, which it describes as a 'reimagining of the N64'. For now, Analogue is calling this device the 'Analogue 3D', seemingly on account of it being the company's first device to support 3D games. Like Analogue's other products, the Analogue 3D relies upon a field-programmable gate array (FPGA) for what should be an error and lag-free gaming experience.
Additionally, the Analogue 3D is said to be the 'first and only aftermarket' N64 solution that offers 100% compatibility across EU, JP and US games. However, Analogue is remaining quiet about the capabilities of its FPGA chip other than it does not support openFPGA 2 but can game at 4K. Also, the Analogue 3D will provide original display modes, as well as 'reference quality recreations of undisclosed Cathode-ray tube (CRT) TVs and Professional Video Monitors (PVMs).
Moreover, Analogue has included four controller ports, plus support for 2.4G wireless and Bluetooth controllers. The Analogue 3D will be available next year, likely after DAC support for the Analogue Dock and Analogue Pocket arrives. In the meantime, Analogue hopes to begin shipping the Duo and Pocket Adapters before the end of the year. The same release window should apply to Analogue OS 2.0 as well, details of which remain unknown for now.
