AYANEO Pocket Air gaming handheld finally starts shipping
AYANEO has been around for a while, but the MediaTek Dimensity 1200-powered Pocket Air is the brand's first Android-driven gaming handheld. However, the users of this highly portable and powerful console will not get a pure Android 12 experience, because Google's mobile operating system comes with AYASpace ad AYAHome on top.
When talking about the hardware department, the AYANEO Pocket Air also comes with LPDDR5 memory and UFS 3.1 storage (6/128, 8/256, or 12/512 GB), a generous 7,350 mAh battery, USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C connectivity, a fingerprint reader, as well as a 5.5-inch FHD AMOLED screen with 60 Hz refresh. The control and is done thanks to hall-sensing joysticks and hall triggers, combined with dual six-axis gyros alongside one x-axis linear motor. Obviously, LTE, Bluetooth 5.2 and WiFi 6E are also present.
On Indiegogo, all early bird offerings are already gone (100 units of each configuration mentioned above). With 6 days left in the crowdfunding campaign, some Indiegogo retail price units are still up for sale (US$299 to US$459 instead of US$279 to US$399).
According to AYANEO, the first units to be shipped are the 12/512 GB models, to be followed by the others after October 8. Shipments started at the end of last week, so the first backers should receive their Pocket Air in a few days.
