MSI G32CQ5P: New curved VA gaming monitor debuts with 170 Hz refresh rate
MSI has introduced the G32CQ5P, which the company advertises as a 32-inch curved gaming monitor. As is often the case with 32-inch gaming monitors, MSI has actually rounded up from 31.5-inches. Additionally, MSI has based the G32CQ5P around a VA panel, which should ensure a higher contrast ratio compared to IPS equivalents.
To that end, the MSI G32CQ5P has a 3,000:1 contrast ratio, as well as 88% Adobe RGB, 91% DCI-P3 and 115% sRGB colour space coverages, respectively. According to MSI, the gaming monitor also delivers 250 nits peak brightness and 1 ms MPRT response times. Moreover, the G32CQ5P operates natively at 2,560 x 1,440 pixels with a 170 Hz refresh rate that it can vary using Adaptive-Sync technology.
For reference, the gaming monitor has a 1500R curvature too, plus 178° viewing angles. Furthermore, MSI has integrated a stand that can be tilted -5° ~ 20°, swivelled -30° ~ 30° or moved upwards by 90 mm. Alternatively, there are 75 x 75 mm VESA mounts should you wish to use a third-party stand. For some reason, MSI has not outlined pricing or availability yet, although its confirmation of DisplayPort 1.2a and HDMI 2.0b ports implies that it will be a cheaper option in the scheme of 1440p gaming monitors.
