Cooler Master has shared further details of its new Tempest GP2711 gaming monitor. The device, announced at Computex 2023, has a VA panel with Mini LED technology for a higher contrast ratio of 3,000:1 typically or 3,000,000:1 with HDR. The screen has a QHD 2,560 x 1,440 px resolution with a 165 Hz refresh rate.
The Tempest GP2711 has a typical maximum brightness of 600 nits, rising to 1,500 nits with HDR. Plus, the monitor covers 95% of the DCI-P3 and 93.5% of the Adobe RGB color gamuts. Other features include 4ms G2G and 1ms MPRT response times and AMD Freesync Premium Pro support. The 27-in screen is flat with a 16:9 aspect ratio and a 178° viewing angle. You can adjust the monitor with a -5° to +20° tilt, a 15° swivel left or right, a 90° pivot and up to 110 mm (~4.3-in) lift. A heatsink and thermal back help to cool the device, allowing Cooler Master to provide a four-year warranty.
Ports on the device include two HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort 1.4, USB-A 3.0 and audio out. The monitor has two built-in 2W speakers and is TUV Hardware Low Blue Light and TUV Flicker Free certified. It is unclear precisely when the Cooler Master Tempest GP2711 gaming monitor will launch; it is expected to arrive early in 2024, retailing for US$449.
