One UI 6: Samsung details new AI camera features and new 200 MP resolution switcher for Galaxy S23 Ultra
Samsung has detailed the full list of AI camera features that it has integrated within One UI 6. For context, the Android 14-based update reached stable status yesterday following its release to the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus and Galaxy S23 Ultra in Europe. Subsequently, the company confirmed that 25 devices would be in line for One UI 6, including the Galaxy S20 and Galaxy Note 20 series.
In a press release, Samsung explains that it has designed all new AI camera changes around two ideas. On the one hand, it aims to minimise the steps needed to use popular features, such as its editing software. On the other hand, it hopes to ensure that 'every shot you take is a keeper'.
As the images below show, Samsung has updated 'Sky Guide' to show which stars have been captured, including their associated clusters and constellations. Additionally, Samsung has added a dedicated resolution switcher in Photo or Pro mode, but only for the Galaxy S23 Ultra. Either way, Samsung's current flagship will be able to switch freely between 12 MP, 50 MP and 200 MP modes after being updated to One UI 6.
Elsewhere, the new OS update refines One UI's document scanning tool and its built-in photo editor. One UI 6 also adds undo/redo buttons within the latter, as well as new customisable camera widgets for your home screen. Please see Samsung's press release and the images below for more details.
