Nubia has announced an interesting accessory kit for the Z50S Pro, which includes a protective case with a filter thread and a somewhat interesting MagSafe version as well as two filters that are primarily intended for landscape shots at night.

Nubia is presenting an accessory package for the Z50S Pro in the form of the Starlight Imaging Kit, the centerpiece of which is an innovative protective cover made of plastic, but should still feel pleasant to the touch thanks to its sandblasted surface.

Nubia installs a ring of 36 N52 magnets so that the Z50S Pro can be magnetically fixed to chargers or stands in a similar way to the Apple iPhone 15. A curiously interesting fact is that instead of adopting the exact magnetic arrangement from MagSafe or Qi2, Nubia does away with the magnets underneath the ring, which prevent the smartphone from rotating on a holder. The protective cover is even more fascinating because of the 67 mm filter thread.

Commercially available ND or polarizing filters can be used with the 50 MP f/1.6 main camera with 1/1.49 inch sensor, with the 50 MP f/2.0 ultra-wide-angle camera or with the 8 MP f/2.4 telephoto camera. The Starlight Imaging Kit includes two matching filters that are designed to provide high image quality thanks to high-quality Schott glass from Germany and PVD coating. The "Starry Night" filter is designed to reduce visible light pollution in photos, while the "Twinkle Star 6x" filter transforms concentrated sources of light in the image into stars with six arms.

Price and availability

The Nubia Z50S Starlight Kit is available in China for 599 yuan (approx. US$82). For this price, buyers receive the protective case with the magnetic ring and 67 mm filter thread as well as two matching filters, including "Starry Night" and "Twinkle Star 6x". Nubia is yet to confirm any details about an international launch.
