Leak reveals peculiar special edition of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 Retro Edition will supposedly be followed by the Galaxy Z Flip5 Maison Margiela Edition, as the images from MSPowerUser (embedded below) reveal. The collaboration with the Paris-based luxury fashion label has resulted in a design that could hardly be more eye-catching.
The back of the smartphone is decorated with numbers from 0 to 23, which represent the 23 Maison Margiela collections. The Galaxy Z Flip5 is part of the eleventh collection, which only includes accessories, which is why this number is circled. Below these numbers is a large "Maison Margiela" logo, while the background appears to be a photo of an item of clothing. The special edition apparently comes with matching wallpapers for both displays of the smartphone.
The photos also show a transparent case with a graffiti design and a more subtle black leather case that are part of the collection. These cases are also likely to be sold individually, as the photo of the transparent case clearly shows it to be on a regular Galaxy Z Flip5 instead of the special edition. Details on launch dates and prices are still pending.
Samsung had already collaborated with Maison Margiela on the Galaxy Z Flip4 (128 GB and 256 GB on Amazon) and developed a special edition, which can be seen in the video below. As in the previous year, the specs are unlikely to change, meaning that the Galaxy Z Flip5 is still likely to have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy, a 120 Hz, 6.7-inch folding display and a 3.4-inch secondary display.
