ASUS invites fans to Zephyrus G14 launch event as it shares more ROG Phone 8 details
ASUS has released new teaser images for the ROG Phone 8, a successor to the ROG Phone 7 series. In summary, the company shared a single image of the device last week, which was joined by a short video for a new Zephyrus G14. While ASUS has not provided any extra details about the latter since, it is now inviting ROG fans to its CES 2024 showcase, which will take place between January 8 and January 9.
As for the ROG Phone 8, it appears that ASUS will introduce it on January 16 in China. Streaming from 19:30 local time (11:30 UTC), the event does not preclude an earlier ROG Phone 8 series reveal during CES 2024 in Las Vegas. In the meantime, the company has revealed the smartphone's full back panel design, which is more toned-down in nature than the ROG Phone 7 family.
Unsurprisingly, the next ROG Phone will return with an RGB backlit Republic of Gamers (ROG) logo, as well as a pair of USB Type-C ports. Moreover, it seems that the ROG Phone 8 will be capable of shooting 8K videos, presumably thanks to its Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. ASUS claims to have installed a brand new camera system this time round too, examples of which it has provided in a blind test viewable on its website. Although not particularly informative, the blind camera test gives fans the opportunity of winning a ROG Phone 8; please see ASUS' website for more details.
