Speculation about the possibility of Samsung releasing a second Galaxy Z Fold6 model coming later this year continues to arrive thick and fast. For context, various sources have dismissed the idea that such a device remains in development. Most recently, Roland Quandt claimed that Samsung had suspended its plans for a so-called Galaxy Z Fold6 Ultra or Galaxy Z Fold6 Slim, perhaps indefinitely; for simplicity's sake, we shall refer to the device as the Galaxy Z Fold6 Ultra hereafter.
However, other sources have since reported that this is not the case. To that end, Ice Universe asserts that the Galaxy Z Fold6 Ultra will not only be thinner and taller than the existing Galaxy Z Fold6, but also as wide as the Galaxy S24 Ultra when closed. Consequently, the leaker believes that the former will arrive with a cover display sporting a cover display that has a 19.5:9 aspect ratio, which would be significantly wider than the 22.1:9 aspect ratio of the Galaxy Z Fold6's cover display.
The Galaxy Z Fold6 Ultra is still expected to be smaller than the Galaxy S24 Ultra though, which features a 6.8-inch display. Supposedly, Samsung is working to deliver the former with a 6.5-inch cover display, a 0.2-inch change from the Galaxy Z Fold6 (curr. $1,899.99 on Amazon). Currently, the Galaxy Z Fold6 Ultra is anticipated to arrive in October 2024, albeit only in South Korea and in China as the Samsung W25.
