Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 Ultra launch plans suspended, perhaps indefinitely
The Galaxy Z Fold6 is now available to pre-order via Amazon with 512GB of internal storage for $1,899 - money that will only get you a 256GB base model instead when that event ends.
According to the latest rumors, a Fold6 fanatic just might be advised to go ahead and grab that offer while they can rather than hold out for the flagship smartphone's rumored Ultra variant.
It was thought to launch with more significant design upgrades compared to the 'vanilla' Fold6; however, according to Roland Quandt's sources, the first-gen Ultra (or possibly Slim) might not be unleashed in a subsequent event after all.
Samsung might have been more comfortable releasing an even higher-end foldable smartphone if it still effectively had the market to itself; however, of course, more legitimate contenders such as the OnePlus Open and Pixel Fold, not to mention the Honor Magic V2 (which has an update on the way) have finally shown up at similar price-points .
Therefore, the release of an even more expensive alternative might now make less sense to the South Korean giant. This new leak contradicts rumors that Z Fold6 Ultra/Slim properties will indeed show up in the successor to the Samsung W24 soon.
