Galaxy Z Flip 6 competitor Xiaomi Mix Flip gets its core specs revealed

Xiaomi has confirmed the launch date of its first vertical foldable phone, the Mix Flip. The smartphone will be joining the Redmi K70 Ultra and Mix Fold 4 on July 19. Besides sharing the launch info, the company has shared a couple of core specs of the device.

Among them is the SoC, which is confirmed to be the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, Qualcomm's latest flagship chip. It's the same SoC that powers the Xiaomi 14 lineup and the Galaxy Z Flip 6, so you can expect the upcoming Mix Flip to deliver a similar level of performance. While the company didn't share much about the cameras, the teaser photos do confirm a dual camera setup on the back.

These cameras are co-developed with Leica, and Xiaomi says that one of them will have a "large aperture." Under the hood, the Xiaomi Mix Flip will sport a 4780 mAh battery, which is nearly identical to the battery capacity of the recently launched Honor Magic V Flip and higher than the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Motorola Razr Plus 2024 (12/256 curr. $849.99 on Amazon).

The company has also shared that the Mix Flip will pair the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage, both of which are flagship standards. For cooling, there will be a 3D vapor chamber, and the foldable flip phone will feature a 4-inch external screen with a resolution of 1240p and 1600 nits brightness rating. Other details are yet to be revealed, but the good news is that the wait won't be long, as July 19 is pretty much around the corner.
